Dovre (Ski Jumper), 1950
This is a terrific advertisement for Dovre ski bindings, a company created by two transplanted Norwegians who settled in Concord, Massachusetts. In 1935, Dovre became the first American manufacturer of ski bindings and was so successful that the U.S. government commissioned them to outfit ski platoons in WWII. As skiing began to boom in the Fifties and Sixties, Dovre was considered the brand of choice.
