um 1930 in Zurich -,
1977
This poster was created by Max Bill for a 1977 show at the Design Museum in Zurich about new design, furniture and architecture in the city around 1930. Max Bill was the perfect person to create this poster - he was trained at the Bauhaus, studying under Kandinsky, Klee and Sclemmer, and designed his own house in Zurich in 1932 and 1933.
This poster echoes the precise order and structure of exhibition posters for the new architecture by Swiss pioneers Theo Ballmer and Ernst Keller in 1928. It is a fitting tribute to the era, a beautiful poster in its own right.
