This remarkable poster by Bruno Monguzzi was created for an exhibition about The Monte Tamaro Chapel, a contemporary structure built from the side of a mountain in Lugano by the architect Mario Botta and featuring paintings by Enzo Cucchi. The poster was awarded Swiss Poster of the Year in 1994. Monguzzi (b. 1941) is regarded as one of the most important Swiss Post-Modern graphic designers, and is a practitioner of what he calls "expressive typography." Beginning in 1987, Monguzzi led the visual identity and communications for Museo Cantonale d’Arte, producing designs that are renowned for their boldness and ingenuity, inspired by the legacies of Constructivist and Bauhaus design.
