Binacrin Shampoo, 1949
What better way to promote a shampoo than with a striking redhead soaping up? Brun's irresistible Object Poster, tightly cropped on her beautiful tresses and long lashes, was a stunner on the billboards of a Switzerland just emerging from the austerity of WWII.

Brun was one of the leading poster artists that shaped Basel into an important center of graphic design worldwide. Both incredibly successful and versatile, Brun created rigorous Bauhaus style designs in the Thirties, stunning Object Posters in the Forties, and then forged a relaxed, cartoon-like style in the Fifties and Sixties. By adapting his style, Brun was able to sell products despite the changing lifestyles and tastes of these eras - quite remarkable.
