Cunard Boston to Europe, 1925
A majestic ocean liner, dwarfing the smoking tugboat at its side, heads towards the open sea in Walter Thomas' towering Art Deco poster of 1925. Promoting a new series of passenger steam ships, Cunard used posters extensively to enhance its position as the leader in transatlantic travel. This stunning poster was uniquely supplemented by "Cunard to Boston," featuring the same image with a different color scheme.
The advent of these new ships was well-timed, as tourism boomed when the Roaring Twenties gathered steam and Europe recovered from World War I.
