L'Aperitif Amer Picon, 1930 ca.

Sepo, (Severo Pozzati) poster: L'Aperitif Amer Picon

Sepo was born in Bologna, Italy, and came to Paris after becoming a leading Art Deco posterist in his home country. His delightful poster for the popoular aperitif Picon captures the energy of a Paris bistro - a waiter puts on the brakes as he spritzes a Picon with its requisite seltzer before speeding off to the waiting customer.

This circa 1930 gem is a recent discovery that features a surprisingly contemporary color palette, angular lines, and a playful spirit.
